Palm Sunday in the open-air museum / 2024

On March 24, 2024, on Palm Sunday, the faithful gathered in the Sądecki Ethnographic Park for a solemn mass. The tradition of this service is to carry the figure of Christ on a donkey during a procession around the church. The custom, known in Poland since the 15th century, probably comes from Germany and is a staging of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. After the mass, you could taste Christmas cakes baked in a bread oven in the Mill from Kamienica and see how baskets for the Holy Mass are made.
